Robert Eugene Godfrey, age 73, of 204 Roxbury Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at his residence.

He was born April 10, 1942 in Eagle Rock to the late Asberry and Bernice Burks Godfrey.

He was a retired truck driver, and a member of Jackson Memorial Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Godfrey, whom he married in 1966, and a sister, Virginia Sandidge.

He is survived by three daughters, Lorraine Denise Hunter, Wanda Rena Godfrey and Rebecca Lynn Godfrey, all of Clifton Forge; two sisters, Cathleen Robinson and husband, Lloyd Ray, Sr. and Pearl Sandidge and husband, James; four brothers, DeLawrence Godfrey and wife, Myra, Bruce Godfrey and wife Cynthia, Arthur Godfrey and wife, Jean and Steve Godfrey; three grandchildren, Micah Allen Godfrey, Daneesha Delrae Hunter and Morrison Alexander Godfrey; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Elder Gregory Moore officiating.
