World War II Army Veteran Was Former Hercules, Inc. Employee, Falling Spring Presbyterian Church Member

Mr. Ivan Randall Johnson, Jr., age 90, of Covington, Virginia, died Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at his residence.

He was the husband of Frances Louise Perkins Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was born November 7, 1925 in Bath County, the son of the late Ivan Randall Johnson, Sr. and Rachel Elizabeth Jackson Johnson.

He served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II, where he was stationed in the Pacific Theatre of Operations.

A lifetime member of this community, Ivan was employed by the former Hercules before his retirement. Mr. Johnson was a member of Falling Spring Presbyterian Church as well as the Men of Mission. Ivan enjoyed gardening.

In addition to his wife, Frances Louise Perkins Johnson, Mr. Johnson is survived by three sons, Ivan R. "Johnny" Johnson, III and wife, Connie of Wake Forest, NC, Kevin Johnson and wife, Karen of Waxhaw, NC, and Jeffrey K. Johnson and wife, Dinah of Hot Springs; four grandchildren, Ashley Johnson of Virginia Beach, Amy Ladagana and husband, Joe of Charlotte, NC, Liesa Johnson of Wake Forest, NC and Stephan Johnson and wife, Melissa of Columbus, OH; two sisters, Charlotte Stull and husband, Sonny and Audrey Wiley; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by seven sisters, Reba Kelly, Ethel Crowder, Irene Fisher, Helen Poague, Mamie Byer and infants, Gladys May Johnson and Louise Scott Johnson.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Slate officiating. Interment will follow in Falling Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Grimm, Bill Gadd, Charlie King, John Helmintoller, Sonny Stull, Kevin Morgan, and Tom Seabolt.

The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until service time at Loving Funeral Home.
