William Randall (Bill) Snyder, age 69, of 305 5th Street, Apt A, Iron Gate, Virginia, died Monday, December 28, 2015 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.

He was born December 13, 1946 in Covington to the late John C. Snyder, Sr. and Ruth Mae Stinnett Snyder.

He served in the United States Navy during The Vietnam War, and was an independent industrial electrician.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 263 from Cayuga, IN, and of the Christian faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Sue Snyder Knighton.

He is survived by three daughters, Tamara Annett Stumpert of Las Vegas, NV, Taura Reynolds and husband, Paul of Covington and Holly Nicely and husband, William of Clifton Forge; two sons, William Randall "Billy" Snyder, Jr. and partner, Victor Curry of Las Vegas and Joseph Snyder and wife, Natasha of Clifton Forge; two brothers, John C. Snyder, Jr. and wife, Mary of Low Moor and Thomas Wayne Snyder and wife, Sandy of Covington; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and special caregiver, Mark Newcomb.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Jeff Riley officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to The Salvation Army, 115 S. Lexington St, Covington, VA 24426.
