Etsil (Midge) Kidd Hughes, age 87, of 1324 Linden Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Monday, January 4, 2016 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany in Low Moor.

She was born June 1, 1928 in Alleghany County to the late Jesse Stonewall Jackson Kidd and Bessie Lee Tyree Kidd.

She was a retired inspector for Lydall, Inc. of Iron Gate and a member of I.A.M. Union of Lydall.

She was also a member of Iron Gate Advent Christian Church, and loved dancing, gardening and the Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Moreau Hughes in 1985; a sister, Margaret "Pat" Mays; two brothers, Stuart Kidd and Bud Kidd; and a special friend, Charles Puckett.

She is survived by her two sisters, Elizabeth K. Wilcher Obenchain of Clifton Forge and Katherine K. Taylor of Iron Gate; and a number of nieces and nephews, including special niece and caretaker, Jeannie Smith of Clifton Forge, and a special nephew Paul Taylor of Delhi, LA.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with Reverend Victor Nicely officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, or any time at the residence, 1324 Linden Avenue, Clifton Forge, VA.
