Retired ARH Supply Clerk Was Elkton Native

Muriel Juanita Dean Turner, age 94, of 3506 Douthat Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Sunday, January 24, 2016 at her residence.

She was born June 16, 1921 in Elkton, Virginia, to the late Cecil Morgan and Maude Ellen Mowbray Dean.

She was a supply clerk for Alleghany Regional Hospital.

She was a member of the Clifton Forge Women of the Moose, having served as Chaplain, Junior Regent and Grand Regent (Senior).

In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Turner, Sr.; a son, James E. Turner, Jr.; a sister, Evelyn Rumpf; and two brothers, Edward Dean and Reginald Dean.

She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Laquintano and husband, Tony of Charlottesville; two sons, Gerald Douglas Turner and wife, Sue of Jacksonville, FL and Scott Marsh and wife, Crystal of Clifton Forge; a daughter-in-law, Carol Turner of Clifton Forge; a sister, Phyllis Dwier and husband, Habbie of Charlottesville; seven grandchildren, Michael Turner, Steven Turner, Debra Turner, Tony Laquintano, Nick Laquintano Michelle Turner and Adam Turner; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
