Susanne Retzlaff (Susi) Shaver, 50, 366 Forestry Road, Hot Springs, Virginia, died at her residence.

Mrs. Shaver was born November 11, 1965 in Arlington, the daughter of John Retzlaff and Gudrun Petermann Retzlaff.

Susi was a graduate of Bath County High School.

She loved to travel and became a flight attendant for a number of years.

She became a homemaker and loved caring for her family including her dogs, Bailey and Libby.

She was an avid sports fan, following her children during their high school sports careers.

Susi was employed for nine years at Laura'a Boutique Flower Shop and was most recently the hostess at Les Cohons d'Or in Hot Springs.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 28 years, Tom Shaver, of Hot Springs; her daughter, Erika Shaver of Charlotte, NC; her son, Tommy Shaver, Jr. of Harrisonburg; her grandson, Levi Scott of Lynchburg; a brother, Thomas Retzlaff and wife, Lisa; a niece, Emma Retzlaff; a nephew, Jackson Retzlaff, all of Hot Springs, and her extended family of in-laws, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral service will be held Saturday January 30, 2016 at 11:00 a..m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Steve Shaver officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.at Arritt Funeral Home.

In accordance with her wishes her body has been cremated.
