Obituary for Nancy Agnor Witt Nancy Agnor Witt
Eagle Rock Native Was Former Colonial American Bank Employee

Nancy Agnor Witt of Happy Acres, Natural Well, Virginia, died peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2016 with her daughters by her side at University of Virginia Medical Center, after a brief illness.

She was born August 29, 1931 to James M. Agnor and Viola Deacon Agnor in Shiloh, Eagle Rock, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie E. Witt on April 21, 2011.

Nancy was a proud graduate of Eagle Rock High School class of 1948.

She "retired" in 1956 from the bookkeeping department at Colonial American Bank in Roanoke, Virginia, and became a homemaker and mother.

She was a member of Mallow Presbyterian Church and the Ed Matics Sunday School Class. She was proud to have founded the exercise class at Mallow Presbyterian Church. She was active in Circle #1.

Nancy was always very proud to say that along with Bobbie, she had visited and shopped in all 50 states. She was known as a charitable lady and gave generously to things she deemed important and especially to people she felt were in need of a helping hand.

She is survived by her daughters, Dixie Witt Oliver and husband, Roger of Natural Well, Virginia, and Mitzi Witt Ridgewell and husband, Marty, of Tampa, Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chris Oliver of Conway, SC, Adam Ridgewell and wife, Emily of Riverview, FL, Jillian Oliver Lopez and husband, Kurt of Mexico City, Mexico, and Amy Ridgewell and Jon of Tampa, FL.

She is also survived by her great granddaughter Lola Nikita Lopez of Mexico City, Mexico.

Nancy is preceded in death by her siblings, Arnold "Jack" Agnor, Weldon Agnor, Marion Agnor and Ruby Agnor Powell and her beloved grandpuppy Speedy.

She is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her grandpuppy Jake, of Natural Well.

Nancy's favorite pastimes were spending time with family and friends and reading. Family meant the world to her. She was the matriarch of her Agnor family and kept everyone together by hosting a family reunion at her home every summer. It was very important to her that all the younger generations know and have the family connection of their cousins. She also enjoyed the many special times with her "lunch bunchÓ" from Mallow Presbyterian Church. Her church family was very important to her.

Dixie and Mitzi would like to thank all of our church family, Gary Marshall, and all of our Natural Well neighbors, along with all of our friends for the love and support shown during our Mother's illness. We are also very grateful and would like to thank the wonderful staff at Bath Community Hospital for their care of our Mother throughout the years and to the University of Virginia Medical Center staff for their care of our Mom and of us during the last few weeks.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 5 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home in Covington, Virginia. The funeral service will be held at Mallow Presbyterian Church in Covington, VA at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016. Interment will follow at Emory United Methodist Church in Natural Well, Virginia.
