Obituary for Leroy Alva Williams Leroy Alva Williams
U. S. Army Veteran Was Former CSX Machinist

Leroy Alva Williams, age 89, of 310 Vine Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Monday, February 22, 2016 at his residence.

He was born December 23, 1926 in Lynchburg to the late Richard Carrington and Gladys Stone Williams.

He served in the United States Army and was a machinist for CSX Transportation.

He was a member of the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and the International Association of Machinists.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife of forty years, Marion Burley Williams of Wesgate, Clifton Forge; a step daughter, Nancy Arritt and husband, Robert of Daleville; four step sons, Jay Campbell and wife, Laura of Covington, Forrest Campbell and wife, Sue of Ridgeley, WV, Rock Campbell of Clifton Forge, and Stoney Campbell and wife, Yvonne of Vinton; a sister, Ethel Childress of Clarksville, TN; ten step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend W. Pembroke Hall officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by members of the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

A private interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor.

The family will visit with friends following the service at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
