Clifton Forge Homemaker Dies At Age 79

Nannie Louise Sumler Montgomery, age 79, of 800 W. Ridgeway Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Sunday, April 3, 2016 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany in Low Moor.

She was born March 10, 1937 in Christiansburg to the late James B. and Ethel Honaker Sumler.

She was a homemaker throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Frank E. Costigan, Jr. and a grandson, Frank Edward Taylor.

She is survived by three daughters, Connie Krupa and husband, Bruce of Kenbridge, Carolyn Hixon of Clifton Forge, and Chris Costigan and partner, Jane Meyer of Christiansburg; three sons, Wayne Webb and wife, Amy of Clarksville, TN, Walter Webb of Martinsville, and James Webb and wife, Rachel of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Darrick Taylor and wife, Amanda of Covington, Casey Webb of Eagle Rock, and Xander Webb of Clarksville, TN; two great grandchildren, Desmond Taylor and Gabriela Taylor; two sisters; three brothers; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is handling arrangements. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Clifton Forge Food Pantry, 909 Church Street, P. O. Box 361, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
