Shirley Cornetta Carter Revard, 79, of Natural Bridge, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

She was born April 8, 1937, a daughter of the late James Edward Carter and Ruth Anna Mauck Carter.

Mrs. Revard was a member of the Bible Church at Rockbridge.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph Merritt Revard of Natural Bridge; three sons, Joseph Merritt Revard Jr. of Hiwassee, Va., James Timothy Revard of Stafford, Va., Daniel Mark Revard of Dumfries, Va.; two daughters, Rachel Esther Hammersley of Woodstock, Va., Rebecca Regina Early of Bealeton, Va.; two brothers, Donald Wayne Carter of Winchester, Va., Roger Lee Carter of Wytheville, Va.; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was conducted 6 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Warden officiating.

The family received friends after the service. Burial took place 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Clifton Cemetery in Clifton, Va.
