Former White Front Supermarket Owner Was Trinity United Methodist Church Member

Emma Donald Moore, 94, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016.

She was born March 30, 1922, the daughter of William Henry Donald and Grace Virginia Dixon.

Emma was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, James (Jimmy) Adair Moore and by six sisters and three brothers, all of whom she loved very much.

Left to cherish her memory are two sons, James Samuel (Sammy) Moore and Thomas Echard Moore his wife, Carolyn Wingrove-Moore; a granddaughter, Adair (Addie) Singleton Moore and numerous "grand-dogs".

Emma is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Emma and Jimmy owned/operated the White Front Super Market for over 35 years and were an integral part of the Lexington business community from the 1950s through 1980s.

As a business owner she knew the value of and supported the Lexington retail community.

She was an active and faithful member of her church, Trinity United Methodist in Lexington. She volunteered for many years as a Sunday school teacher and was also involved in women's circles and assisted in various church activities, as needed.

Emma loved her friends and family and was loyal to them all. She was a gracious hostess and enjoyed family and social gatherings. She had a keen sense of style and took pride in her appearance.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory. A service celebrating Emma's life will be held Sunday, August 14 at Trinity United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. led by the Rev. Joe Cailles followed by a graveside service at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.

ln lieu of flowers, the family asks that any contributions in Emma's memory be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, The Stonewall Jackson Hospital Community Health Foundation or the National Stroke Foundation.
