John Brooke Swink Jr., 98, of Lexington, Virginia died Friday, September 9, 2016, at the Mayflower.

He was born July 5, 1918, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late John Brooke Swink, Sr. and Lula Hogue Swink.

Surviving are his wife of 74 years, Frances Mays Swink of Lexington; two daughters, Jeannie Connors and husband, Michael, of Spring, Texas; Terry Eubank and husband, Joey, of Herndon; three grandsons, Sean Connors of Austin, Texas, Chris Eubank of Seattle, Wash., Greg Eubank of Herndon; one granddaughter, Mandi Angerstein of Spring, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Aubrey Anne Angerstein of Spring, Texas; devoted niece, Lila Rogers, of Lexington; and many other nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery with the Rev. William Klein officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions in memory of John Swink to the Lexington Presbyterian Church.
