Troy L. Nelson, age 84, left this world for his heavenly home, Tuesday, November 29, 2016.

Troy was born November 17, 1932, in Circleville, West Virginia, the son of the late Rella May Kyle and Solan Nelson.

He was resident of Covington, Virginia, for fifty-six years and a proud member of Faith Baptist Church.

Shirley Lambert, his wife, preceded him in death.

He is survived by four children, Gerald Lambert, Marchita McRoberts and husband, Tom, of Covington, Thomas Nelson and wife, Diane, of Roanoke, and Andrea Nelson and husband, Richard Clark, of Glen Allen. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Kelly Rucker and husband, Jerry, Kristen Martin, Tyler Martin, Amie Burkholder and husband, Evan, and Jeremy Lambert, as well as, three great grandchildren, William Rucker, Caleb Burkholder and Nora Burkholder. Troy has two surviving brothers, Bruce Nelson of Harrisonburg and Samuel Nelson of Washington State.

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Faith Baptist Church from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. for family and friends, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Billy Price officiating.

In accordance with Troy's wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, 311 Jackson Drive, Covington, Virginia 24426.
