June States Filson Morton, 86, of Buena Vista, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016.

She was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and the Lexington Baptist Church.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Watson and Mabel Rife States; first husband, Bobby R. Filson; second husband, James E. Morton Sr; and stepdaughter, Margaret M. Worley.

She is survived by her daughters, Anita D. Filson (Jay Gilliam) and Teresa F. Price (Bill); grandchildren, Natalie Bennis (Todd), Nathan Mutispaugh (Sarah), Neil Mutispaugh (Carmen), Ryan Price, Ben Price (Sarah), Justin Price, Gavin Clark (Amy Parziale), Nell Gilliam and James E. Morton III (Michelle); 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lorraine Carter, Anna Vest (Lewis), Patricia Gose (Bob), Sandra Jefferson, Ed States (Mary Ellen) and Don States; son-in-law, Norman Worley; and her much loved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Golden Living Center in Buena Vista for their loving care.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, December 30, 2016, at Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Mutispaugh officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at Oakey's North Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rockbridge Area Hospice or to the Alzheimer's Association.
