Obituary for James Robert Fonner James Robert Fonner
West Virginia Native Founded Park N Pool Corporation

James Robert Fonner of Lexington, Virginia went home to be with the Lord at the age of 64 on January 2, 2017.

He was loved deeply by his wife, Brenda and surviving children, Beth Ihnatolya, Kelly Tillman, Christine Connor, Robert Fonner and Zack Babauta. Other survivors include his mother, Betty Fonner, sister, Frances Alloway, eight grandchildren and his Brittany spaniel, Roy.

"Jim" was born Sept. 2, 1952 in Elizabeth, West Virginia. He moved with the family to Springfield, Pa., where he graduated from high school, participating in cross country and Boy Scouts. He attended North Carolina State University, graduating in wood science and technology in 1976.

He was employed by Marsh Cabinet Company and Weyerhaeuser before starting his own business in 1998, Park N Pool Corporation in Lexington, with his wife. Park N Pool Corporation was a finalist for the Taylor Murphy Center State Award, honoring businesses that were able to succeed in economically challenged parts of the state and had a commitment to their community.

Jim enjoyed fishing, wood working, grilling and anything outdoors. He invested in the lives of people around him and deeply cared for others. Jim and Brenda are members of Lexington Baptist Church.

Services was held at Lexington Baptist Church on Thursday, January 5 at 11 a.m. for visitation with friends and family. The memorial service will held at 12:30 p.m.

Arrangements were handled by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
