Kesterson's Used Auto Parts Retiree Dies At Age 64

Mr. Larry Wayne Mines, age 64, of Covington, Virginia died Friday, March 3, 2017, at his residence.

He was the husband of Elizabeth Sartain Mines.

Mr. Mines was born October 12, 1952 in Alleghany County, the son of Audrey Harvey Mines and the late Arthur Mines.

A lifetime resident of this community, he was employed by Kesterson's Used Auto Parts before his retirement.

Larry was a jack-of-all-trades and master of all things. He loved all kinds of cars and could make anything out of car parts. Mr. Mines was also known for always having a good joke to tell.

He was an avid fan of the Allegheny Mountain Radio Station and loved listening to it so much that he even got several people in this area tuning into its broadcasts.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Mines is survived by a son, Richard Lee Mines and wife, Kathy of Covington; a daughter, Amy Mines Jeffries and husband, Barry of Covington; three grandchildren, Amanda Nichols, Brian Parr and Courtney Hubbard; and two sisters, Kathy E. Mines and Linda M. Parker and husband, Jim, all of Covington.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Johnnie Mize officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening following the service.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Allegheny Mountain Radio Station, 9836 Browns Creek Road, Dunmore, WV 24934, www.alleghenymountainradio.org. Arrangements are being handled by Loving Funeral Home; www.lovingfuneralhome1913.com.
