Obituary for Kevin Wayne Tingler, Sr. Kevin Wayne Tingler, Sr.
Former U. S. Navy Seabee Was Good News Christian Fellowship Member

Kevin Wayne Tingler, Sr., 52, of 10791 Potts Creek Road, Covington, Virginia died Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Veteran_s Affairs Medical Center in Salem.

He was born March 12, 1964 in Clifton Forge, a son of James "Jim" Tingler, Sr. and Ann Ginger Tingler.

He was a member of Good News Christian Fellowship in Covington, and was a former member of the Covington Volunteer Fire Department.

He loved hunting, fishing, woodworking and playing music.

Kevin was a Seabee in the U. S. Navy from 1982 until 1987.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John Franklin and Mary Elizabeth Ginger, and his paternal grandparents, Rufus and Bell Tingler.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jennifer Bowen Tingler; a daughter, Kimberly Tingler, of Roanoke; a son, Kevin Tingler, Jr., of Colorado, a sister; Barbara Armentrout and her husband Kenny, of Covington, brother; J.W. Tingler, Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Covington; two grandchildren, Enija Heaven Tingler and Hayden Martin; two nephews, J.C. Armentrout and Nicole, and John Tingler and Crystal.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Good News Christian Fellowship Church, 214 S. Lexington Ave., Covington, Va.

A private interment will be held at the Virginia Veteran's Cemetery in Dublin, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in his memory to the Good News Christian Fellowship, 214 S. Lexington Ave, Covington, Virginia 24426.
