Obituary for Harold Ephraim Griffith Harold Ephraim Griffith
U. S. Army Veteran Worked With Hercules, Industrial Rayon In Covington

Harold Ephraim Griffith, 82, of 3314 Kanawha Trail, Covington, Virginia died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Griffith was born December 22, 1934, in Alleghany County, a son of the late Willard Stanley Griffith and Grace Hylton Griffith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Griffith, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Junior Amos, Dale Wilson, Gay Howard and Leonard Howard.

He was a cold war veteran with the U. S. Army.

He was an employee of the former Industrial Rayon Corporation in Covington and retired from the Research Department of Hercules, Inc. in 1996.

He was a longtime member of Calvary Christian Church. Harold was a neat and tidy man, who enjoyed farming and loved his country music.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Amos Griffith, of Covington; his daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Darren Honaker, of Clifton Forge; three grandsons, Christopher Honaker of Blacksburg, and Erik and Mason Honaker of Clifton Forge; one brother, W.S. "Pete" Griffith, Jr. and his wife, Helen, of Covington; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elsie Griffith and Roger and Pat Amos, all of Covington; Reta Amos of Lindside, WV, Roscoe and Dreama Amos of Rock Camp, WV, Arnold and Barbara Amos of Peterstown, WV, and Linda Wilson of Union, WV; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017, in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev Mike Warren officiating.

Interment will be made in the Swoope Cemetery at Lindside, WV.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home. The family suggests that memorial donations in Mr. Griffith's name be made to Calvary Christian Church, 1329 S. Pond Ave., Covington, VA 24426.
