Warm Springs Resident Worked With Bath County School System

Charlotte May Corbett Jenkins, 85, of Warm Springs, Virginia died Friday, March 24, 2017 at her home. She was born October 23, 1931 in Hot Springs, Virginia, the daughter of the late Porter Olin Corbett and Mabel Brown Criser Corbett.

Charlotte was retired after 29 years with the Bath County School System in the cafeteria as a manager.

She was a member of Ashwood United Methodist Church and graduated from Valley High School in the class of 1948.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her children and family.

Charlotte is survived by her three sons: William "Willie" Jenkins and wife, Dottie of Mt. Grove, Ray E. Jenkins and wife Debbie of Hot Springs, Robert Curtis Jenkins and wife Teresa of Spotsylvania, VA; two daughters: Glenda Stanley and husband, Jim of Bumpass, VA, Brenda May Jenkins of Richmond; six grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Jessica Rucker, Will, Candace, Kaitlin; four great grandchildren, Zoey, Jaeda, Carter Rucker, William; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda Gay Jenkins.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastor David George officiating. Interment will be in Warm Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be J.W. Bryan, Lonnie Martin, Percy Nowlin, Jimmy Adkins, Hershal Adkins, Buddy McLaughlin, and George Jenkins.

The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hot Springs Rescue Squad and Meals on Wheels in lieu of flowers.
