Obituary for Warren Reid (Rod) Roderick Warren Reid (Rod) Roderick
Former Marine Corps Sergeant Was Master Woodworker

Warren Reid (Rod) Roderick, age 79, of 5101 Pig Run Road, Millboro, Virginia, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 as a result of a logging accident on his property.

He was born June 20, 1937 in Gans, Pennsylvania to the late Lloyd S. and Evelyn Frey Roderick.

He served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 until 1959 and retired from Merck in Elkton, VA.

He was fiercely independent, and loved farming and being outdoors.

He trained Tennessee Walkers, was a master woodworker who made furniture, and loved hunting, fishing, and relic hunting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great grandchild, A. J. Banks.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara "Bobbie" Brewer Roderick of Millboro; a daughter, Lori Lynne Morris and husband, Kris of Penn Laird; three sons, Nathan Roderick and wife, Bobbie Jo of Craigsville, Michael Shawn Roderick and wife, Jenelle of Timberville, and Timothy Owen Roderick and girlfriend, Tuesday Morton of Broadway; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; six nieces; and a number of cousins including special cousins, Wanda and Tim Peters of Pennsylvania.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is handling arrangements
