Nevlin Marie Statome Scott, 90, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away, Monday, May 1, 2017 at Havenwood Assisted Living.

Born April 20, 1927, in Buena Vista, she was a daughter of the late Irving Jackson Statome and Lora Staton Statome.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marshall "Pete" Scott; an infant son; and son-in-law, Michael Dattilio.

She was a member of the First Brethren Church.

Mrs. Scott served on Buena Vista City Council and retired from Sovran Bank.

Surviving are her three daughters, Marsha Scott Dattilio, of Staunton, Karen Field and husband, Hugh of Glen Allen, and Teresa Jacobs and husband, Steve of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Lora Dattilio-Kollman and husband, Rick, Elizabeth Dattilio and fiance, Jason Beckendorf, David Field, Sara Jacobs, and Sydney Jacobs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2017 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the loving staff of Havenwood for their care and support.
