Christ United Methodist Church Membre Was Former Industrial Rayon Corp. Employee

Minnie Lucille Bess Kemper, 92, of Covington, Virginia, died Friday, May 5, 2017 at Lewis Gale Alleghany in Low Moor.

She was born February 19, 1925 in Alleghany, a daughter of the late James Raymond and Minnie Chapman Bess.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kemper 2005; a son-in–law, Paul Morgan in 2000, and also by nine brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Kemper worked for the former Industrial Rayon Corp. for a number of years.

She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, where she served as secretary of the Fellowship Class and had held many jobs and served on numerous committees over the years in the church. She loved her family and helping anyone she could.

Surviving are her daughter, Catherine Morgan of Covington; her son and daughter-in-law, Neal and Nicole Kemper of Blue Ridge; three grandchildren, Heather and Greg Entsminger of Covington; Ben and Jessica Jackson of Troutville and Jackson Kemper of Blue Ridge; six great grandchildren, Afton Potter, Kaleigh Entsminger, Eli Entsminger, Bubby Entsminger, all of Covington; Kemper Jackson and Hudson Elswick of Troutville; two sisters, Annie Stinespring of Covington and Mae Tingler of Glen Burnie, MD and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday May 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Christ United Methodist Church.

The interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 8, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.

Memorial Donations in Mrs. Kemper's name may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 200 E. Fudge Street, Covington, VA 24426.

The Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements.
