Bobby E. Simmons, age 67, of 38 Misty Hollow Lane, Millboro, Virginia, died Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Bath County Community Hospital.

He was born September 29, 1949 in Bath County, Virginia to the late Summers F. and Mary K. Simmons.

Bobby retired from the Westvaco Carbon plant after 47 years of faithful service.

He was a member of Millboro Christian Church.

In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by two sisters, Faye Stinespring and Judy Burke.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Simmons of Millboro; a son, Jeff Simmons and wife, Julie of Millboro; a daughter, Penny Kouns and husband, Heath of Christiansburg; six grandchildren, Bo, Logan, Leah, Anna, Brady and Marlie; three sisters, Betty Martin, Patsy McGinnis and Debbie Sprouse; two brothers, Johnny Simmons and Ronnie Simmons; a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forgen with the Pastor Lloyd Via officiating. Interment will follow in Millboro Christian Church Cemetery, Millboro, Virginia. Pallbearers will be friends from Millboro Christian Church.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
