Millboro Christian Church Member Was U. S. Army Veteran, Retired Daniels Construction Co. Employee

Robert Lee Neff, age 82, of 592 Lawrence Lane, Millboro, Virginia, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at his residence.

Lee was born January 21, 1935 in Bath County to the late John Richard and Mary Ella Wiseman Neff.

He served in the United States Army and was a retired iron worker and rigger for Daniels Construction Company.

He attended Millboro Christian Church, where he was baptized, and loved hunting, fishing, and baseball.

He was known throughout Bath and Alleghany Counties, and was well loved by all in his circle of friends.

In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by three uncles, Ralph Neff, Lewis Neff, and Guy Neff.

He is survived by two daughters, Carol Steele and husband, Danny of Glen Wilton, Eagle Rock, and Carla Gill and fiancee, Tim Leonard of Vinton; three sons, Robert Steven "Steve" Neff and friend, Tammy Redman of Low Moor, Clayton Wayne Neff and friend Ann Potter of Low Moor, and Carlos Alan "Rocky" Neff and special friend, Jennifer Mundy of Iron Gate; seven grandchildren, Robert Steven Neff, Jr., Samantha Nicole Propst, Charles Aaron Simmons, Rachel Marie Simmons, Dabney Lantz-Neff, Trey Rhodes, and Libby Rhodes; three great grandchildren, Isaac Neff, Jordan Propst, and Leigha Whitehead; and his special friends, Eddie Harris, Florence and Phillip Clark, Betty and F. D. Kelley, Lois and Mr. B. (Talmadge) Blackburn, and William Kelley.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Edith Snedegar offiating.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home, as well as following the service until 8:00 p.m.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.

In addition to the entire staff of Mountain Regional Hospice, the family would like to thank a special nurse, Marie Dudley, RN and a special aide, Cassie Scott of Mountain Regional Hospice for their care and kindness.
