Obituary for Velma Ruth Britt (Toddle) Stull Velma Ruth Britt (Toddle) Stull
Former Industrial Rayon Employee Was Epworth United Methodist Church Member

Velma Ruth Britt (Toddle) Stull, 91, of 1407 Cardinal Drive, Selma, Virginia, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at her residence.

She was born February 16, 1926 in Fincastle, a daughter of the late Frank Britt and Ethel Lee Britt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Stanford Stull in 2000; her son, Dennis Stull; step son, Ray Stull and eight brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Stull was an employee of the former Industrial Rayon Corporation.

She was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church.

She had a love for gardening as well as her grandchildren, who she kept as they were growing up. Mrs. Stull enjoyed playing card games like Rook and Canasta and was an Atlanta Braves Fan.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Randy Smithers of Selma and Lisa and Craig Simms of Reisterstown, MD; her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth "Sparky" and Wanda Stull of New Castle; daughter in law, Nancy Stull of Covington; seven grandchildren, Cary and Heather Tichenor of Forest; Sara Tichenor and Jeremy Dougherty of Roanoke; Rachel Smithers and Avery Smithers, both of Selma; Emily Simms of Brooklyn, NY; Mike Stull of Covington and Pam Stull; three great grandchildren, Nora Tichenor and Corinne Tichenor of Forest and Cameron Dougherty of Roanoke; one sister, Virgie Seay of Buchanan; three sisters–in–law, Louise Humphries and Ruby Stull, both of Covington and Nancy Britt of Eagle Rock; a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the care givers Mary Ann Carroll, Twila Boyd and Amie Putnam; Mountain Regional Hospice and the 4Th Four Nurses at Lewis Gale Alleghany Hospital.

The funeral service will be held Friday, June 23, 2017 at 11:00 Am in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Colwell officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.
