She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Lee Newcomb; parents, Arthur and Edna Hale; sister, Joann Hicks; and brother, Rodney Hale.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Gary Simpson; grandchildren, Amanda and Jeremy Bennington, Lee and Karmen Simpson, Heather Bennett, and Travis Smith; great-grandchildren: Caleb, Kendall, Cole, Tory, Zoey, and Logan; sisters, Nigal Cisco, Judy King, Brenda Adcock, and Dixie Hale; brother, Jerry Hale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2017 in the Eagle Rock Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Botetourt Funeral Home, Eagle Rock.
