Woodland Union Church Member Was Korean War Veteran

Harris (Buddy) Preston Webb, Jr., 84, of 34 Whispering Pine Lane, Millboro, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Virginia.

He was born January 21, 1933 in Hot Springs, Virginia, the son of the late Harris Preston Webb, Sr. and Millie Delphia Marcum Webb McNeal.

He was a construction worker with C. W. Burns Construction.

Mr. Webb was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served as a Motor Sergeant during the Korean War.

He was a member of the Woodland Union Church.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He loved his beloved horse "Lady" and watching John Wayne movies.

He is survived by three sisters, Helen McCune of Millboro, Janet Williams of Millboro and Greta McCune and husband, Willie of Verona, Virginia; eleven nieces and nephews, Kevin McCune and wife, Karen, Carl McCune and wife, Kathy, Cleveland McCune and wife, Lorraine, Anthony McCune and wife, Rita, Tyler McCune and wife, Lucy, Douglas Williams and wife, Millie, Todd Williams, Lisa Cambata and husband, Bruce, Lana Thacker and husband, Richard, Rhonda McCready and husband, Steve and Dawn Miller and husband, Kenny; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Rhoda Webb; and a nephew Keith McCune.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Warm Springs Cemetery. Interment will be in Warm Springs Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be his nephews. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at Woodland Union Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital.

The Millboro Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
