Obituary for Wesley Monroe Keith Wesley Monroe Keith
Vietnam War Veteran Was Retired Equipment Operator

Wesley Monroe Keith, 70, of 5210 Indian Draft Road, Covington, Virginia, died Friday, August 11, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Keith was born April 15, 1947 in Alleghany County, the son of the late Glenn and Jeanette Gadd Keith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ann Johnson Keith in 2010 and a son-in-law, James Shinault in 2015.

Wesley retired as an equipment operator for the AA Conner Construction Company in Roanoke.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War with the U. S. Army.

Surviving are two daughters, Loretta Shinault of Covington and Sharon Hovanski and husband, Joe of Wilmington, NC; two grandchildren, Jaime Bruce of Covington and Christie Alvaro and her husband, Dennis of North Port, FL; four great grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn Brazil of Amherst; two brothers, Robert Keith of Covington and Clifford Keith and wife, Ruth of Clifton Forge; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held Monday, August 14, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home.

Military rites will be conducted by the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The family will receive friends following the service at Arritt Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence of Loretta Shinault at 119 Cline Meadow Road, Covington.

The family suggests that memorial contributions in Mr. Keith's name be made to the American Cancer Society, 1700 MacCorkle Ave. SE, 3rd Floor, Charleston, WV 25314.

The Arritt Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
