Madeline Mace Hevener, 86, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at her residence.

Born September 3, 1930 in Grottoes, she was the daughter of the late John Mace and Gladys Edwards Mace.

She was a member of the Buena Vista Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Richard Loyd Hevener; and sister, Janet Wacker.

Surviving are her four children, Gail Hevener Melkersen and husband, Ole of New Market, Patty Hevener Lemon and husband, Wayne, Richard Loyd "Dickie" Hevener II and wife, Denise, all of Buena Vista, and Lorrie Hevener Roscher and husband, Fred of Natural Bridge Station; eight grandchildren, Michael Melkersen, Peggy Harris, Robert Melkersen, Jeffrey Lemon, Jenny Sue Hocking, Tiffany Hevener, Richard Loyd "Rickie" Hevener III, Maggie Ann Roscher; nine great-grandchildren; five sisters, Barbara Koliadko, Betty Hevener, Alice Thomas, Mary Collins and June Bustin; and one brother, John Mace; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 17 at the Buena Vista Seventh-Day Adventist Church by Pastor Rick Labate and Pastor Daniel Xisto. Burial will follow at the Green Hill Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home. Contributions may be made in Madeline's memory to the Buena Vista Seventh-Day Adventist Church, New Church Fund.
