Obituary for William Franklin (Frank) Smith William Franklin (Frank) Smith
Eagle Rock Native Was Lexington Resident

William Franklin (Frank) Smith, 90, of Lexington, Virginia, died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at his home.

Born May 16, 1927 in Eagle Rock, he was a son of the late William E. Smith and Georgia All Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his five brothers, Levi, Cecil, Willis, Earl and Essie; and one sister, Cora. Frank was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Mr. Smith was a member and served as deacon at the Oxford Presbyterian Church. He also served his country in the United States Army, and was past president of the Effinger Ruritan Club. Frank retired from the Rockbridge Farmers Cooperative, where he was a field representative, after many years of service.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Juanita Hall Smith; two sons, William L. "Billy" Smith and wife, Linda, and Jerry W. Smith and wife, Charlotte; one daughter, Sandra S. Bryant and husband, Bill; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, August 17 at Oxford Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Dr. Horace Douty officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 16 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
