Frona Day Steele, 89, of Fairfield, Virginia, died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at The Mayflower in Lexington.

Born February 17, 1928, in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Percy S. Day and Henrietta Sweet Day.

Mrs. Steele was a member of the New Providence Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her husband, David F. Steele Jr.; and three sisters, Henrietta King, Dorothy Harlow and Betty Jo Carawon.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, at New Providence Presbyterian Cemetery by the Rev. Michael Snider. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
