Janice Simpson Fridley, age 89, of 1711 Forest Hills Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Thursday, August 17, 2017 at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany in Low Moor.

She was born May 7, 1928, in Covington, a daughter of the late, Lee Andrew and Martha Fridley Simpson. She was a member of Clifton Forge Baptist Church and a retired Registered Nurse at Alleghany Regional Hospital.

She was also an avid Washington Redskins Fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Fridley, Sr.; three sisters, Deenie Harmon, Bonnie Vail, and Patricia McClung; and a brother, Robert Simpson.

She is survived by three sons, Rodney Fridley, Jr. and wife, Cindy, of Florence, SC, Ernest "Andy" Fridley, of Burke, VA, David Searfoss, of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Karen Simpson and husband, Tim of Falls Church; two grandchildren, Sgt. Matthew Fridley, US Army and Samantha Foster and husband, Cameron; a great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Searfoss; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge. Interment will follow at Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
