Obituary for Juanita O'Conner Hamilton Juanita O'Conner Hamilton
Longtime Nurse Was United Baptist Church Member

Mrs. Juanita O_Conner Hamilton, age 79, of Covington, Virginia, died Saturday, September 16, 2017 at her residence.

She was the wife of the late Robert Lee "Pops" Hamilton.

Mrs. Hamilton was born February 12, 1938 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Rubert Blair O'Conner and Mable Mines O'Conner.

She was a nurse whose career spanned fifty-five years. Mrs. Hamilton was member of United Baptist Church on Ogles Creek. Juanita enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, flowers, her pets and was an artist. She was known for her sense of humor.

Mrs. Hamilton is survived by two sons, David Hoke of Georgia and Mike Hoke of Coeburn; four daughters, Annette Hoke Waddill of Richmond, Kathy Hoke Russ of Toronto, Canada, Gail Hoke Mongold of Covington, Susan Hamilton Armentrout of Covington; four step-daughters, Debbie Napier of Harrisonburg and Donna Hamilton of North Carolina, Robin Hause of Staunton and Sherry Kelley of North Carolina; eighteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; a brother, Wayne O’Conner of Georgia; four sisters, Janet Eppard, Cora London, Alice Davis and Judy Morgan; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by siblings, Buzzy, Betty and Richard.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne O'Conner officiating. Interment will follow in Hokes Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua Hamilton, Michael Esbaugh, Timothy Morgan, Kevin Morgan, Jeff Davis, Kelly Davis and Aaron Tavara-Hoke.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday morning from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
