Obituary for Helen Black Brady Helen Black Brady
Millboro Native Worked With Granny Averril's Store

Helen Black Brady, age 87, of 213 Revere Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at her residence.

She was born August 27, 1930 in Millboro, Virginia to the late Benjamin and Edna Janet Hise Black.

She was a member of Living Stones Ministries and a retired waitress from Granny Averill's Store in Low Moor and Quiznos.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Curtis; a brother, Palmer Black; two sisters, Gertrude Matheny and Dorothy Ruff.

She is survived by her loving and caring husband, Lee Wilson Brady; a son, Monte F. Curtis of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Jill Kern of Lexington; a loving sister, Ethel Thompson of Millboro; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and her special friends, Madeline Nicely and Cathy Walton.

A funeral service will be held on Monday October 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Pastor Mike Rollins officiating. Interment will follow in Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery, Millboro. Pallbearers will be Rick LeBlue, Glenn Cooper, Roger Walton, Roger Thompson, Danny Black, and Paul Barr.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Living Stones Ministries, 601 Granville Ave., Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
