Rockbridge County Native Was Lauderdale A. R. Presbyterian Church Member, Private Duty CNA

Ruby Viola Carter Emore, 89, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born Nov. 23, 1927, in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Alfred Garring Carter and Annie Viola Conner Carter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Oliver Emore, and sisters, Daisy Carter Clark, Mabel Carter Snyder and Laura Carter Fitzgerald.

Ruby was a member of Lauderdale A.R. Presbyterian Church and had worked as a private duty CNA. Ruby loved her family, her friends, and life.

Surviving are her daughters, Linda Casey Carter of Harrisonburg, and Diane Brooks and Anita Snyder, both of Lexington; a sister, Lucy Carter Clark, also of Lexington; and one grandson, Jacob Potter.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Clyde Keen officiating. Burial will follow at New Monmouth Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
