Obituary for Rosemary Caldwell (Polly) Driscoll Rosemary Caldwell (Polly) Driscoll
Longtime Area Teacher Was Emmanuel Episcopal Church Member

Mrs. Rosemary Caldwell (Polly) Driscoll, age 91, of Covington, Virginia, died November 11, 2017 at her residence.

She was the wife of the late William E. "Bill" Driscoll.

Mrs. Driscoll was born August 11, 1926 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Rufus Caldwell and Clara Rose Caldwell Fearon.

A lifetime resident of this community, she started her career as a teacher at Dunlap School and retired with fifty years of service to both Covington City and Alleghany County School Systems.

Polly was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church. She was also a member of the local retired teachers association. Polly was well known for her sense of humor and her love of her family, friends and students.

Mrs. Driscoll is survived by a brother, Rufus J. "Jack" Caldwell of Fairfax; three nieces, Sheritan Royall, Claire O’Neil and husband, Skip and their son and daughter, Glen and Polly, and Jane Driscoll Ellis; and a nephew, Gray Whitman Ellis and wife, Linda and their daughter, Sarah Valtka.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church with Rev. Roger Baroody officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bill Withrow, Greg Reynolds, Greg Valtka, H. Phil Burks, Jr., Steve Stephenson and Sam Allison. Honorary pallbearer will be Fletcher Watson.

The family will receive friends at Loving Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until time to leave for the service at the church.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422 or Boys Home Inc, 306 Boys Home Road, Covington, VA 24426.
