Obituary for Homer "Dickie" Warren, Sr. Homer "Dickie" Warren, Sr.
CSX Conductor Retiree

Homer "Dickie" Warren, Sr., of 1310 Richmond Street, Selma, VA, died Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem.

He was born in Clifton Forge on October 31, 1932, a son of the late Homer W. and Lilly Cora Kern Warren.

He was a retired conductor with CSX Transportation, a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, and a life member of the Clifton Forge Elks Lodge (B.P.O.E.) #1065.

Dickie loved fishing, hunting and his garden.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, Bill, Cripp, Griffith, Roy, and Monty Ray Warren; and a sister, Ester Warren.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Marie Bush Warren; two sons, Richard Allen Warren and his wife, Pam, of Covington, Homer Madison Warren, Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Rich Patch; a sister, Margaret Coffey, of Selma; seven grandchildren, his little fishing buddies Homer William and Matthew Arlington Warren, also Lisa Warren, R.J. Warren and his wife, Christy, Loveda Warren, Jessica Harmon and her husband, Daniel, and Ethan Berry; three great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Richard and Winnie; a number of nieces and nephews; also many close friends including his fishing and hunting buddies.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2017, in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge, with the Reverend Mike Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park in Low Moor.

His family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of the service on Monday at Nicely Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Michelle and Homer, Jr., 9311 Rich Patch Road.
