Lewis Kennan Pennington, 81 of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017 at Augusta Medical Center.

Lewis was born April 15, 1936, in Rockbridge County, the son of the late Howard S. Pennington and Elma Clements Pennington.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, George Beard and E. Marvin Hostetter.

Lewis is survived by his sisters, Catherine Beard of Lexington and Mildred Hostetter of Kerrs Creek; brothers, Lawrence (Wanda) of Bustleburg, Leonard (Doris) of Lexington, Lloyd (Esther) of Natural Bridge Station; and several nieces and nephews.

Lewis graduated from Brownsburg High School in 1955. He then served four years in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Dupont in Waynesboro.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017 at Harrison Funeral Home by the Rev. Punker Robertson. Burial will follow at Timber Ridge Cemetery. Friends may gather with family for one hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
