Obituary for William Stephen (Bill) Hodges William Stephen (Bill) Hodges
Former Alleghany County School Division Director Of Instruction And Personnel Dies At Age 80

William Stephen (Bill) Hodges, 80, of 200 Wil-Dan Lane, Hot Springs, Virginia, died Monday, December 4, 2017 at his residence.

He was born February 14, 1937 at Minden, WV, a son of the late Earl Stephen Hodges and Geneva Helms Hodges.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Robert Milton Hodges.

Mr. Hodges retired from the Alleghany School Systems as the Director of Instruction and Personnel.

He was a member of Emory United Methodist Church as well the Covington Lodge # 171, AF & AM and the Clifton Forge Shrine Club.

He was a coin collector and loved farming, carpentry and building things. He had a love for his family, especially his granddaughter, Ayn.

Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Dana Clark Hodges of Hot Springs; two sons, William Anderson Hodges and his wife, Ping of Mechanicsville and Stephen Linn Hodges of Hot Springs; one granddaughter, Ayn Hodges of Mechanicsville; his brother, Joseph Earl Hodges of Port Orange, FL; special friends, Ryland and Patty Burchette of Covington; Archie Verdiglione of Le Plata, MD; Jim Hess of SC and Dr. Raymond Brown of IN.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Hess officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 15 2017 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home, Covington.
