Obituary for Lawrence Richard Hostetter Lawrence Richard Hostetter
Rockbridge County Native Was U. S. Army Korean War Veteran

Lawrence Richard Hostetter, 86, of Natural Bridge, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 at his home.

Born Nov. 1, 1931, in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late John Thomas Hostetter and Mary Catherine Smith Hostetter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Estella E. Hostetter, and his second wife, Valerie Elizabeth Hostetter; and sons, James Allen Hostetter and Lawrence Thomas Hostetter.

Mr. Hostetter attended the Natural Bridge Baptist Church, and retired as a repairman for General Motors. Lawrence also served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, and was an outdoorsman who loved to cut wood and garden.

Surviving are his children, Daniel Brooke Hostetter of Natural Bridge, Ted Wayne Hostetter of Lexington, and Karen Sue Haney of Bel Air, Md.; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Randy Smith, the Rev. Michael Saunders and Pastor Glenn Kuhar officiating. Burial will follow at New Monmouth Presbyterian Cemetery.

Friends may gather with the family from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16.
