Nancy Blankenship Martin, 74, of Buena Vista, Virginia passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at her residence.

Born March 16, 1943 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Janie Blankenship.

She was a member of Peoples Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by Thuel Jasper Martin, her husband of 56 years, and a grandchild, Bubba Camden.

Nancy retired from Burlington Industries, where she made many people laugh through the years.

She is survived by her children, Thuel Jasper Martin Jr., Theresa Lynn Dale and Monte, Avery Shannon Martin and Paula Tolley, Shana Leah Burch and Shaun Lotts; two sisters, Alice Blankenship and Patricia Blankenship; a brother, Junior Blankenship; grandchildren, Marleigh Robinson and Kasey Burch; great-grandchildren, Mickaela McDaniel, Taylor Burch, and many more; several very dear friends, Carolyn Claytor, Kathy Campbell and Gelsie Wright.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 24 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery in Amherst at 1 p.m.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 23 at the funeral home.
