Gary Franklin Wood, 72, of Strasburg, Virginia and formerly of Covington, passed away Monday February 19, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. Wood was born in Summers County, WV on November 19, 1945, he was a son of the late Diamond Alton and Jewel Evelyn garrison Wood.

He was a retired operator with General Chemical. He ttended Strasburg United Methodist Church and served in the U. S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Goldie Anna Harvey Wood of Strasburg; his two daughters, Kari L. Wood and Tracie D. Wood, both of Strasburg.

A funeral service for Mr. Wood will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Strasburg United Methodist Church with Rev. John Haynes, Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Stephens Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg, VA.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of the service.

Memorials maybe made to Stover Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses.
