Clarence Morris O_Shields of Lexington, Virginia died Monday, February 26, 2018 at his home.

He was born in Brovard County, N.C., and received a B.S. degree in chemistry from High Point University. From 1964 to 1986 he was employed with Ecusta Paper Corporation in Pisgah Forest, N.C., working in new product development, research and technical support.

In 1986 Morris moved to Lexington as technical director of domestic accounts and quality control manager with Mundate-Hermitite Corporation.

Morris and Barbara were married in 1988. In 1995 he became a financial adviser with Raymond James Financial as a partner with his wife during the following 12 years.

As an active member in Lexington's Sunrise Rotary Club for 18 years, Morris received the Paul Harris Fellow in appreciation for dedicated work within the club. He enjoyed golf at the country club and loved playing tennis. He and Barbara were active in Grace Presbyterian Church.

His two children are Shannon (Dave Walker) and grandson Dyland of Bossier City, La., and Sean O'Shields (Louise) of Raleigh, N.C.

A reception in memory of Morris will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church, 40 Village Way, Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2 p.m.

Morris' body has been donated to the Virginia Anatomical Program.
