Edith Clark Haynes, 92, of 1528 S. Howard St., Covington, Virginia died Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Carrington Place Nursing Home in Daleville.

Mrs. Haynes was born February 13, 1926 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Harvey and Piney Wilhelm Clark.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Sherman Clark, Ralph Clark, Lawrence Clark and Edward Clark; four sisters, Mildred Rowsey, Ethel Tyree, Francis Hostetter and Sharlotte Clark and a grandson, Bradley Haynes.

She was an employee of the former Industrial Rayon Corp in Covington.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, LeAndra and Bill Shepherd of Montvale; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Jenny Haynes of Covington and Earl and Wanda Haynes of Eagle Rock; four grandchildren, Kelly and Nolan Southall, Sara Paxton and Kevin Baker, Jessi and Tim Wagner and Zane Shepherd; five great grandchildren, Matthew Tench, Natalie Haynes, Emily Haynes, Travis Hicks, and Peyton Southall and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. David Brown officiating.

Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends for one hour before service time at Arritt Funeral Home.
