Owner/Operator Top Man Auto Upholstery Dies At Age 67

Herman Ray (Top Man) Taylor, Sr., 67, of 3712 Upper Rich Patch Road, Covington, Virginia died Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.

He was born May 27, 1950 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Ernest Junior Taylor and Frances Byer Taylor.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Pete Taylor, Ernest "Jack" Taylor, Jr., James "Bo Bo" Taylor and Curtis P. Taylor.

Herman was the Owner/Operator Top Man Auto Upholstery for a number of years and a member of Cliffdale Christian Church.

He was an avid car enthusiast.

Surviving are his wife Patricia Sellers Taylor of Covington; two sons, Herman "Doobie" Taylor, Jr. of Covington and Jason Taylor and his wife, Stephanie of Clifton Forge; five Grandchildren, Christopher Taylor; Justin Taylor; Dylan Gibson; Aysha Gibson and Faith Taylor; two great grandchildren, Nora Miller and Riley Taylor; four Sibblings, Ellis "Buck" and Margaret Taylor of Christiansburg; Ralph Taylor; Erma Lipes and George Green and Betty and Ralph Price, all of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be held Friday April 13, 2018 in the Humphries Cemetery with the Rev. Raymond Christian officiating.

The family will receive their friends Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the residence of 237 Circle Drive, Covington, VA 24426.
