Teresa Gaines Spangler, 50, of 2337 S. Church Street, Covington, Virginia died Monday, April 9, 2018 at Lewis Gale – Alleghany Hospital.

She was born October 16, 1967 in Alleghany County, a daughter of Gene and Linda McCulley Gaines of Covington.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jayson Gaines, in 2012 and a sister, Yvonne Gaines, in 2015.

She was a teacher's aide in the Covington City School System for a number of years and was currently serving as a Para Professional at Covington High School.

Surviving in addition to her parents, are two sons, Brandon M. Spangler and Adam W. Spangler, both of Salem; her fiance, Jesse Cales of Covington; her sister, Helena Hubble and her husband, Joe of Covington; her brother, David Gaines of Roanoke; her granddaughter, Anzleigh Spangler of Salem; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Jody Gaines of Covington.

The funeral service will be held Friday, April 13, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Ratliff officiating.

Interment will be made in Lone Star Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.
