James Lee Berringer, 74, of Chesterfield, Virginia passed away at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond on April 15, 2018.

He was born in Lexington on May 9, 1943 and lived in the Richmond area for 40 years.

He is survived by sister, Lucile Kesterson (Julian) of Glasgow; Richard Hudson (JoAnn) of Blue Ridge, who was like a brother; son, Ryan of Chesterfield, who shared his love of cars; daughters, Terry Wilhelm (Carlyle) and Rogenia Bryant of Lexington; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Brenda Hamilton of Chesterfield and Pat Ogle of Sherwood, Oregon.

Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

A graveside service will be held at Green Hill Cemetery in Buena Vista at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018 with Rev. Bryon LePere officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Buford Road Baptist Church, 819 Buford Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23235 or a local chapter of Disabled American Veterans.

Arrangements are being handled by the Chesterfield Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home.
