Retired CSX Sheet Metal Worker Was West Virginia Native

John Ervin (Bud) Robinson, age 96, of 4007 Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Sunday, August 5, 2018 at his residence.

Bud was born February 9, 1922 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late John Ray and Estelle Patterson Robinson.

He was a retired sheet metal worker for CSX Transportation, and a member of Lexington Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice McNabb Robinson; a brother, Frank L. Robinson; two sisters, Edith Christine Boone and Shirley Robinson Brown; three brothers-in-law, Ernest O. Brown, Charles McNabb, and Kyle Boone; a sister-in-law, Lucy Robinson; and a nephew, Chuckie Brown.

He is survived by two nieces, Lisa Brown Collins and Judy McNabb Bayne; four nephews, Frank "Butch" Robinson, Charles "Bill" McNabb, Richard Nicely, and Jerry Nicely; and special friends, Pam and Marion Nicely.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge with Reverend Lloyd Camp officiating. Interment will immediately follow. Pallbearers will be Richard Nicely, Marion Nicely, William Nicely, Steve Peery, Ray Puckett, and Butch Robinson. The family will receive friends at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Lexington Baptist Church Building Fund, 75 Old Farm Road, Lexington, Virginia 24450.
