Shirley Ann Bryson Smith, 74, of Lexington, Virginia died Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 12, 1944 in Lexington, a daughter of Leonard E. Bryson and Virginia Moore Bryson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Leo Smith Sr., and two sisters.

Shirley retired from Burlington Industries.

She enjoyed playing bingo, and loved to tease and cut-up with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Donna S. Beverly, Timothy L. Bryson, Calvin L. Smith Jr., Mark O. Smith and Jeffrey J. Smith; sister, Dorothy Turpin; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Harrison Funeral Chapel by Pastor Wes Galford. Burial will follow at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
