Carol Williams Sheppard, 73, of 4221 Midland Trail, Covington, Virginia died Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Lewis Gale Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor.

She was born January 10, 1945 in Alleghany County, a daughter the late Jacob Williams and Beulah Sizemore.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Mrs. Sheppard was self-employed as a sitter for the elderly in the area. Mrs. Shepard loved animals, especially her cats.

Surviving are her husband, Roy L. Sheppard, Sr. of Covington; her daughter, Jennifer Sheppard of Nokesville, VA; her three sons, Todd Sheppard of Covington; Robbie Sheppard of Florida and Roy Sheppard, Jr. and his wife, Cindy of Covington; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her sister, Rose and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Edith Snedegar officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home on Tuesday and other times at the home of Roy and Cindy Sheppard, 603 Dolly Ann Drive, Covington, VA 24426.

Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
